Encouraged by his father to learn The Shadows' 'Wonderful Land', Phil began playing guitar aged 11. The first album he bought was Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, beginning his fascination with the work of The Beatles.
He released three singles and one album with Cat during the late nineties and toured as support to Wishbone Ash and the reformed Thin Lizzy.
Although a fan of seventies rock music, his main love is the music of the sixties, in particular the musical pyrotechnics of The Who and Cream.
