Although working with semi-professional bands from school age, Chris really
started his musical career in the 70s with a band called RITZI. Whilst
having no real success in the UK, they did have a top 10 hit in Australia.
After RITZI, Chris
joined London band THE FABULOUS POODLES, whose album
'Think Pink' was produced by Muff Winwood of THE SPENCER DAVIES GROUP.
When Pat Collier left punk band THE VIBRATORS he enlisted Chris to form
PowerPop band THE BOYFRIENDS. Their singles were produced by STRANGLERS'
producer Martin Rushent and Alan Winstanley and they supported BLONDIE on
their major British and European tours.
After THE BOYFRIENDS Chris joined THE PLANETS with DEAF SCHOOL's Steve
Lindsay and Budgie, later to be drummer with SIOUIXSIE and the BANSHEES and
THE CREATURES. They had a top 10 hit with their single 'Lines' and an album
produced by THE POLICE's producer Nigel Gray.
Next, Chris landed the job with NINE BELOW ZERO frontman Dennis Greaves' new
band THE TRUTH. Constantly selling-out The Marquee and other London clubs,
they quickly gained a reputation as one of the Capitals best live acts. This
led to chart success with records produced by Swain and Jolley and, once
again, Martin Rushent. The band made many TV appearances, both here and
abroad, and toured extensively, including major American tours with SQUEEZE
and THE KINKS.
Most recently, Chris has been working, both live and in the studio, with
ELVIS PRESLEY's original 60s backing band, the legendary Scotty Moore, D.J.
Fontana and THE JORDANAIRES.
